Hello, Bonjour, Namaste

Born in Bombay, I immigrated to Toronto (poem) in the early 1990s. In 2008, I moved to Montréal with my partner Marc-Antoine. I spent the first year and half learning French intensively (blog entry), volunteering with Francophone non-profits and freelancing. I now write fiction and work as a communications consultant.

I had the chance to blog from Brazil, South Africa and Vietnam while on an international teaching contract in 2010. From 2005-2007, I worked for a Tanzanian organization that promotes education rights and democracy. This experience is also captured in a blog. And we went on an unforgettable Safari (Safari website).

An extrovert who likes trying out new things, I turn to yoga and meditation for balance. I love nature (-20C°, plus wind-chill, tests my ardour a bit!) and believe that we can and should live as if nature mattered.

A passion for travel, and my work, took me to interesting corners of the world, such as Manali, India (article) and Dogon country, Mali (article).
