I’m happy to introduce my recently released, 3rd work of fiction, Annapurna’s Bounty, Indian Food Legends Retold, in Ottawa.
It will be great to meet my Ottawa pals in this celebratory event featuring a reading, conversation, snacks and books for sale.
My friend, Neena, has kindly reserved the common room in her centrally-located coop for this event. Please feel free to invite friends, but do RSVP here.
So what is Annapurna’s Bounty? Says Frédéric Charbonneau, author, L’École de la gourmandise:
This book is ingeniously designed as a banquet for the body and the mind: each of its ten chapters offers a tale and a recipe from various eras and regions of India. Men and women, divinities, demons and animals are the heroes of these vivid and colourful stories, over which floats the heady scent of mangoes and spices.
These literary short stories are retellings for the contemporary reader.
The book is listed in 14 Canadian short story collections to read during Short Story Month (May), 18 Canadian books you should be reading in June, and 73 Canadian books to look out for this Spring, by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).
Hope to see you in July!
