 is Annapurna's Bounty? Annapurna\, the Indian Goddess of Nourishment\, pre
 sides over this rich harvest of stories\, which contain a generous dollop 
 of magic realism. Here\, food manifests as ploy\, bargain\, symbolic commu
 nication\, a bone of contention\, a lesson\, as it weaves through the live
 s of kings and commoners\, witches and goddesses\, gurus and bandits\, ref
 ugees and travellers. \nPluralistic\, multi-dimensional\, foodie fiction -
 - a banquet for the mind and the body.\nEach story is followed by a vegeta
 rian recipe offered up by a character. Just like the tales\, the recipes c
 ome from the four corners of India: well-known dishes like dal and irresis
 tible mango lassi\, novelties like Avial and Bengali Khichari\, and an int
 eresting take on the beloved samosa.\nCanned\, fusion music from Karsh Kal
